Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

When you register and use iAE, we collect:

• Account details: name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Profile information: role (alumni, student, company, partner, or university), NIM, angkatan (batch year), major, phone number, profile photo, headline, bio, work experience, education, skills, and social links, all of which you choose to provide.
• Content you create: posts, comments, likes, event RSVPs, and photos you upload to the Community and Gallery sections.
• Usage data: login timestamps and session tokens, used to keep you signed in and to detect suspicious activity.

Sign in with Google. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and a Google account ID with us. We use them only to create your iAE account, sign you in, and confirm that you own your email address. We don't receive your Google password, and we don't access your contacts, Gmail, Drive or anything else in your Google account. Google account data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except as needed to run the platform. You can stop using Google sign-in at any time by setting a password with "Forgot password", and you can remove iAE's access from your Google account settings.

2. How we use your information

• To operate your account, verify your alumni/student status, and connect you with other members.
• To display your profile and posts to other members, subject to the visibility rules below.
• To send account-related emails (password resets, verification updates) to the email address you provide.
• To moderate the community: administrators can review and remove posts or comments that violate our Terms of Service, and can deactivate accounts that misuse the platform.
• We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who can see your information

Your name, role, and photo are visible to other signed-in members. Full profile details (contact info, work experience, education) are only shown to members whose accounts have been verified by an admin. Unverified viewers see a locked, overview-only version of other members' profiles. You control whether your WhatsApp number is shown to other members via a setting in your profile.

4. Where your data lives

Account and profile data is stored in our database. Photos you upload (profile pictures, gallery, and post images) are hosted by a third-party storage provider. We only send these providers the data needed to provide the service. We don't share your information with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

5. Your rights

• Access & correction: you can view and edit most of your profile information anytime from Edit Profile.
• Deletion: you can delete any post or comment you've written. To deactivate or permanently delete your account, contact us at the email below.
• Portability: you can request an export of your profile data by contacting us.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If your account is deactivated, your data is retained (but your login is blocked) so it can be restored if you return. Deletion is only permanent when you specifically request it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Meaningful changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
